Research on Film

The film "stalked at 17" inspired a lot of our cinematography. The film uses a series of interesting camera angles the main 3 angles the film uses to create an intense scene are:
  • Over the shoulder angle
  • long Shot
  • Mid shot
We decided to use all three of these angles to show our stalker behind the main girl. The film also helped us understand what sound effects can do for the performance. A low toned and slow paced sound can create a scary atmosphere in the scene. We also found that dark, and grey toned lighting helps to create an unsettling feel to the scenes. We decided to use the dark lighting when the main girl enters the house.

We also found that tilting the camera side ways making the camera off centre can make the scene look eerie. The stalker in this film also wears dark clothing when stalking his character. We decided to dress our stalker in a black hoodie and black jeans, this stops our character from having an identity, when the audience is unable to identify a character it stops any pleasant emotional attachment happening to the stalker. The dark clothes also resemble a shadow like character, resembling the stalkers main purpose, to shadow a character.

This film gave us many ideas on our film, inspiring us to show our film in an abstract yet effective way.
